What Is ADD?

Attention Deficit Disorder or as you hear it called ADD, can be diagnosed for someone any age. ADD is a neurological disorder and the ways you can tell you or someone you know might have it could be a number of ways:

1.) Distraction

2.) Forgetfulness

3.) Inability to concentrate

4.) Poor attention span

5.) Impulsiveness.

No one has officially determined how someone gets ADD but as of right now it is said to be because of a chemical in balance in the brain. People with ADD sometimes do not have specific chemicals called neurotransmitters. These neurotransmitters are what control behavior responses.

Although some research has shown that ADD runs in families it can be acquired as well. ADD can also be because of a previous accident. This is because sever accidents cause damage to the brain.

Also, ADD can be acquired from the use of different drugs and treatments during pregnancy. The treatments a pregnant women goes through to prevent infectious diseases, or a complicated delivery can cause ADD. Symptoms are not always recognizable by doctors and because of this they could sometimes not be diagnosed with ADD.
